What’s your harvest?
This clip imagines an orchard where sushi grows directly from tree branches. The “fruit” are salmon roe gunkan pieces, each built from dark seaweed wrapping, a white rice base, and a crown of bright orange roe, attached to the wood as if they naturally sprouted there.
The muted outdoor setting makes the absurd idea feel strangely plausible at first glance. Bare branches, soft background blur, and gray natural light give the scene the language of botanical photography, while the repeated sushi forms along the limbs create the rhythm of a heavily fruited tree.
Motion in the clip is minimal, with only a gentle shift in framing and branch movement. The visual joke works because it fully commits to the logic of agriculture: instead of a plate or counter, the sushi is harvested from the landscape like seasonal produce.
