Personal Blessing and ADHD's Role in Content Creation
I am very blessed to have a collection of these. And it is not from, you know, years of practicing how to clear my throat. With my ADHD, I needed to learn new and novel things to keep me entertained, to keep me engaged with creating content online. But that is my brain, not yours.
Core Advice on Consistency and Long-Term YouTube Success
I honestly believe the biggest effective hack when it comes to YouTube is consistency drive, and understanding that Rome was not built in a day and nor will YouTube channels be. A YouTube channel is based and built on how much effort you can collectively stack over time.
Personal Journey: Time Investment in Learning and Teaching
It took me 10 years to get one silver play button for a client. And that was, in fact, 9, 10, 12, 15 years of learning the knowledge so I could teach it to people, for them to implement it, for them to finally achieve that thing, right? I was not working with them for 10 years. I had to work on myself for 10 years.
Realistic Expectations for Starting a YouTube Channel
So you cannot expect to start a YouTube channel and have it immediately explode within two to three months and go from zero subscribers to millions of subscribers to be earning thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions of pounds in money.
Long-Term Career Integration and Foundation Building
I am more integrated into my career now after 15, 20 years of doing it than I ever was from day one. Now I am fairly comfortable in my life and my career, but I had to build that foundation of my career.
Reflections on Early Days and Personal Quirks
By the way, for the people that have been around since day one, like long, long time ago when I was slightly more hairy and British, my kitchen is a little bit better than it used to be, but I still have not done the dishes. Look at this lack of beard. Is it not wonderful?
Strategies for Channel Growth: Viral Hits vs. Evergreen Content
You might be lucky enough to get a viral video that lifts your channel, but what are you going to do after that? Or you could publish 100, 200, 300 really solid educational videos that have a reason to exist now and in 5, 10 years' time and still be getting views.
Benefits of Past Consistency on Current Channel Performance
That is what my channel does. I do not have to publish to my channel and I still get three, 400,000 views every month, but that is because I was publishing three to four to five videos a week, every week for three to five years.
Final Advice for Achieving YouTube Milestones
So if you want to collect one of these, make sure that you are building the foundation, make sure that you are planning for short and long-term growth and you will get there. Rome was not built in a day. But trust me, the Roman Empire had a huge impact on the world.
Random Historical Reflection
Random history lesson from a dude in Britain. Colonialisation feels weird now.
